Field notes from Isla Colon:

In appearance this butterfly resembles some moths in the subfamily Arctiinae. I have only found this insect twice on Isla Colon, both times at lights. Other Riodinidae species fly in the day but sometimes have late afternoon flights that extend after sunset, which may relate to my nighttime records of this butterfly.
